The design was developed by a series of light painting that revealed the momentariness in space. This project proposes to mediate between these two notions creating a series of recreational spaces that are clustered together in a hidden complex, creating a high-end boutique paradigm. Casino and its often discovered perversity pushed the art of gambling into the darker sides of the urban fabric, whereas in the course of Auckland’s development, gambling was the notion of a ‘Tourist’ attraction, vis-à-vis Skycity. It hence refrains from becoming a mere visible architecture. The complex is suspended between the city fabrics and becomes the biggest distraction itself. Aron Vinegar notes that: “it is never the words of meaning that count in advertisements, but rather the ‘colour’ of those words, their ‘profane illumination’.” Their essence is to turn the attention of the city’s audience and as a whole provoking an evenly distributed attention that reflects the city’s unique image.

It defines the space where people turn to, on their ‘via’ to a certain destination. Distractive environment occurs between one building and another, one area and another, or one space and another.

The entire city is concerned with our guests dispersing through the distraction that exists between places. The casino deals Auckland’s CBD as its gaming table. The casino becomes both a place of hope and a destination that highlights the excitement of the journey in Auckland. The experience provided at the casino is intrinsically connected to the ambivalent attitude towards gambling.

The crystalline facades of the office blocks will be fabricated with suspended (on wire cables) structural glass curtain wall with metal plates that run across it.
